Soccer Player

Mayra Aguiniga was born on April 22 1992. She has two brothers and three sisters. Mayra also loves spending time with her brothers and sisters.  Her passion is soccer she plays for the woman’s soccer team at Oxnard College. She plays left defense because she is left footed. Before playing for Oxnard College she played for a local club team in Oxnard. Her team right now is doing really good they have six wins one loss and one tie. She is looking forward to her season and especially to all the fun vans rides with her teammates. The game she is looking forward to the most is the game against Ventura College because they are their rivals. Recently she hurt her quad and couldn’t really practice with the team because she was trying to recover for the important games that are coming up. Mayra is number 4 but normally her number is 13 but since she is a freshman she didn’t get that number. Overall Mayra is looking forward to playing this season and hopefully more to come.

Mayra attends Oxnard College and sees herself going to school there for another year and transferring but doesn’t know where yet. She enjoys the camps and specially likes the library because of the vibe it gives her to want to study. Her favorite place on camps has to be the cafeteria because she can eat and hang out with her friends on her free time between classes. Mayra has a best friend named Jessica and she also plays on the soccer team with her and feels she will end up transferring somewhere with her. She also has a boy friend she cares deeply for and really relates with him because he also plays soccer. These are some of Mayra’s close people and people she spends a lot of time with. She has an idol she looks up to and that’s her mom for always giddying her; the right way and making time for her at all times. Mayra doesn’t currently work she wants to focus in school and soccer and doesn’t think it would be a good idea to add a job to her busy schedule. She does want to get one after her soccer season is over she wants to work at a store where they will give her a lot of hours and can be flexible with her schedule.  This is what Mayra does  now and what she sees herself doing in the future.

 Hello my name is Maricruz Magana I was born and raised in Puruandiro Michoacán Mexico. I lived in Mexico tell I was 6 years old I didn’t really liked going to school in the teachers in Mexico where very abusive and I was very intimated by them. Not long after I started school in Mexico my parents made the decisions to bring me my two sisters and my brother to the United States. I didn’t like it at all at first the language was a real problem for me but stuck through it. I still have a hard time here and there but I try to stick with it. I’ve been going to school ever since and I want to make something of myself for me and for my parents.




Right now I’m a full time student I attend both Oxnard and Ventura College. I play soccer for Oxnard College and I really enjoy it this will be my second year playing and am really excited for the season to start. We have a lot of talented girls coming in as freshmen that I know will help us do a lot better than last year. My coach also made me captain this year which made me really happy and excited for all the things that come with that responsibility. In my personal life my older sister just got married this past weekend which made me really happy for her and I know will being a lot of changes for my life hopefully good ones. Right now I have a lot of family staying with us from Mexico and I love coming home to awesome food from my grandma and aunts that can cook up a storm of delicious food.



In my immediate future I want to play a really good soccer season and do good in school so hopefully I can get excepted to Saint Marcos University were I’m really excited to play soccer for. I also have a two trips to Mexico planed the first is in December I want to go visit my home town I haven’t been there in about five years and I really want to go visit. The other one is in March and it will be to Cancun I’m planning on going with my friends for spring break and really excited about it. Later in my life I do see myself living in a really nice house and having children and having made something of myself.
